February & March 2021 Showroom | Justfab & Shoedazzle
Featured in Kelly Rowland capsule collection for March 2021 is my double breasted blazer with shoulder pads and high waisted tailored bermuda shorts for a strong boss-type look.
Also featured in Kelly Rowland’s capsule collection are my high waisted tapered pants, with a slight balloon shape for added volume.
I was inspired by a pair of A.L.C. trousers that I saw in an episode of Queen Sugar. I loved how they accentuated her hips and had a nice straight leg fit from hip down, as well as the pocket details at the front waist that give it a utilitarian look.
I was inspired by the trend I kept seeing with trousers/cargo pants having this tie strap detail at the ankle.
Another strong shoulder blazer, but offered in a more modern & younger appeal. I was inspired by the designer Orseund Iris when designing this jacket.
This utility jacket was created for the purposes of being a core item to our line; an easy basic layering piece to tie back to any outfit. Not what I was originally envisioning for this design, but I’m still happy with how it came out. I was inspired by Stella McCartney X Adidas camo utility jacket.
I was trying for the past 4-5 season to create a medium level support bra for the larger chested women like myself, and I finally got one in! This was a huge win in my book. I enjoy making cute sexy active sports bra, but I love to make a sports bra with functionality and purpose. With adjustable wide straps and adjustable band, it gives more flexibility for the wearer and less digging/or cutting in. I kept it cute by showing a little skin. ;)
Here’s where I wish design and ecom teams would have gotten together to write more detailed descriptions about this jacket. Yes, it’s cropped and has a cinched waist, but it also has ruched sleeves. Giving the wearer opportunity to wear as long sleeve or shorter. It has a bungee drawcord encased @ the hood opening to cinch the hood. I designed this jacket to add a cute layering piece to our activewear.
The waistband biker shorts is another core item that our active assortment needed. It has an interior waistband pocket for credit cards or other small items.
The mesh back sports bra was designed for the previous showroom month. It’s a low scoop neck bra with a halter strap twist in the back, and mesh panel @ lower back. You can check out the January Showroom Post in my lastest posts to see more photos, or go to fashion in the menu options.
This was a cute last minute addition to the line. I chased into this new terry cloth trend with some easy basics. A cropped mock neck pullover with half zip and adjustable drawstring hem paired back to easy pull-on short-shorts. These are easy to wear to the beach or resort, or simply to lounge in.
This was another basic silhouette that I felt our activewear needed. Using the same concept as my Waistband Pocket Biker Short, I applied the same usage to a capri length legging. Shoedazzle hadn’t offered a capri legging in the past, so I thought it was a great addition to add to our core. It pairs nicely to RTW oversized Blazer and any crop top, or activewear top/sports bra.
I designed this to add to our core active/athleisure assortment. We didn’t have any core sweats in our program at all, so what better idea than to add the an oversized outfit. This trend of baggy, oversized, color coordinated sweats hit big during the quarantine months, so I chased into this design so we could drop it in January.
Hacci was like a staple fabric that sold pretty well for us in the past. I designed this legging for our Jan/Feb showroom to be a part of our cozy capsule collection, based on a J lux Label fit. It is meant to be paired back to the Hacci Off shoulder top.
I designed this easy pullover crewneck style as a part of our expanding core line for active/athleisure. It’s a simple relaxed fit, raglan sleeve, high crew neck pullover, made in soft french terry fabric.
This is one my favorite designs that I got to develop for our Spring Collection. I updated our basic joggers by offering cargo pocket detailing. My only callouts is that the fit did not end up the way it was intended; it was suppose to be high waisted and a bit more baggier around the ankle, and there was suppose to be metal hardware drawcord tips.
Another basic I designed to add to our core active/athleisure assortment. It’s based off of a Joah Brown fit.
Here’s where I start designing for our fashion denim. This was a fun and challenging endeavor. For our Shoedazzle customer, I designed more distressed and tighter fit designs for our girl.
This was the first time our brand developed a rigid fit denim jean and it was well worth it. I loved designing into this 80’s-90’s era of rigid loose fit jeans, tapered jeans, mom jeans, balloon jeans, and straight leg jeans.
Here’s another fashion rigid denim style I designed into for our Spring Collection. It’s meant to resemble the mom fit jeans of the 90’s, just a bit more cropped to show off the shoes. With thinner whiskering and subtle pp spray.
Designed an easy layering piece for our RTW assortment, an oversized denim jacket. Offered in Acid Wash, Light Indigo Wash, and PFD Black & White Wash.
Another rigid straight fit I designed, but with blown out knees, wider leg opening, and exposed button front closure.
I designed this jacket as a chase style for our expanding core program. It features zip sleeve details, faux zip chest pocket, faux coin pocket, functional side zip pockets, self belt @ hem, and press stud detail @ collar & lapel.
To tie back to our Jackie-O theme and update our LY best seller tweed jacket, I sourced a new novelty tweed with a pop of blue color since that was the basis of our color palette, and made a more cropped and boxier silhouette. I gave it a nice touch with some pearlized rhinestone rim dome buttons. I tied it back to my Crossover Tweed Mini Skirt, to offer a sophisticated matching outfit.
I designed into this sweater knit skirt with tweed trim @ the faux button placket edge to tie back to a sweater knit cardigan.
I designed this easy basic knit pant that pairs well with any top. It’s meant to be a fall staple based on the fabrication, and was c/o into the winter months.
These pants were based on our Jackie-O/Audrey Hepburn 60’s flair. This pant has a faux buttoned down hem @ the SS similar to the pair of cropped red pants I saw on Audrey. I thought this would be a cute detail to tie back to the 60’s posh look. I just wish the buttons were functional, and would have taken out more @ the leg opening to be more tapered.
This design was inspired by the puff sleeve detailing we kept injecting into our rtw styles. I thought, why not add it to a leather jacket? And cinch the waist with a self belt to make it a bit more posh.
I’m so happy to have the privilege of showcasing my work on the beautiful Kelly Rowland, and starting out the new year with such a cohesive capsule collection. I’m proud to share my designs and to show all the beautiful work that my team and the styling team put into.
